Dear farmer, In the previous edition, we explored the fundamentals of organic paddy farming, types of paddy varieties, the right time for sowing and transplanting, how to select seeds and important treatment measures. We also discussed which Galway Krisham products should be used during these stages.
In this second part, we will focus on effective water management, important weeding practices, and how Galway Krisham’s organic products play a crucial role throughout the process to achieve better results from paddy crop.
Water Management:
Maintain 1-2 inches of water in the field for the first 7 days after transplanting. After that, irrigate as needed, but avoid watering during rainfall. 20–25 days after transplanting, the crop requires less water, just ensure consistent soil moisture. During panicle emergence, maintain 3–5 cm of water in the field.
Note – Weeding and Hoeing:
20 days after transplanting, run a leveler in the field and perform weeding and hoeing to control unwanted grasses.
